From Pints to Properties: Marc and Moona's Story

How a trip to the pub sparked an unlikely business partnership.

Some of the best stories start in the pub, don’t they?

From blind dates to catch-ups with an old friend, you can learn a lot over a few drinks down the local.

For property developer Marc Flinders, he came away from his trip to The Red Lion pub with much more than just a pint and some pork scratchings.

Based in the coastal town of Arundel, West Sussex, Marc and his wife, Moona, had just finished renovating a property when they decided to stop off for a celebratory drink.

Fortunately, Level Builders director James had also popped in, with the three of them eventually striking up a conversation over their similar business ventures.

Describing their initial meet, Marc says he could tell James was someone who knew exactly what he was talking about.

“He had a really good energy about him," says Marc.

“He had a lot of jobs going on and was keen to talk property and strategy with us. I really liked that about him.”

Excited by James' enthusiasm, Marc and Moona decided to invite the Level Builders team in to join them on their upcoming project.

Their business, Progreso Properties, specialise in buy-to-lets and renovating student properties in the Kegworth area.

With the goal of transforming a five-bedroom home into a new six-bedroom student property, James and the team got to work late last summer.

While typically very hands on with his work, Marc says he couldn’t be happier with the work Level Builders have invested into the project so far.

“James has pretty much all bases covered when it comes to thinking what’s next and what needs to be done. He’s always one step ahead of everything – it’s been really refreshing”.

With the job due to finish in early summer, the pair are optimistic about the results and are eager to continue working with the Level Builders team in the future.

“We’ve been in contact with quite a few builders and contractors over the years, and I’ve got to say I’d really recommend them, especially with their hunger and drive to get things done. They’re going to go really far!”

We're all excited to see the build take shape later this year, so be sure to check back in for regular updates!
